Chemical Engineering student Jan de Weerdt has won the Shell Bachelor Award 2009. The jury rewarded his bachelor thesis with a cash prize of 2500 euros. De Weerdt’s research focuses on algae as a sustainable source for energy. The researcher specifically studied the growth of algae in different conditions.
