The technological research of the three TUs has placed them among the top 100 technological universities. The Times's ranking lists the University of Delft at a commendable fifteenth place, six places above Harvard University.

The renowned Times Higher Education Supplement has just published its second list of the top 200 universities in the world. Their ranking is partly based on the judgement of 2375 scientists, who indicated which university they felt was the best in their specific field.

Prior to this top 200, the Times published the five underlying faculty level rankings. In the top 100 of technological programs, defined as the primary engineering programs including ICT, Delft climbs from last year's 24th place to a glorious fifteenth place. Twente climbs from 75 to 63 and Eindhoven lowers from position 68 to 74.

The ranking is headed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of California at Berkeley. Stanford University has been pushed of the top spot by the Indian Institutes of Technology, last year's fourth place.
