The `UT eindfeest' (end-of-year party) is a cooperation between Apollo and the Kamerzoekdagen organisation and is meant to be a great conclusion of the year. Just like the traditional Kamerzoekdagen party, you can meet potential campus inhabitants, recognisable by their special T-shirts. But the party is not just for them, the rest of the UT population can enjoy the award ceremony as well. Last week, Apollo published the list of categories and nominees. `We circulated lists and asked around at every opportunity, and this was the result', says Marjolein Zocca of Apollo. Various `hot chicks' and `famous UT people' were honoured to be nominated; even `Computer Science twins' Erik and Arjan Snippe were happy with the `nerd' label. Others were less enthusiastic and have been removed from the list at their request.
Marjolein has no clear preference: `Someone like Ron da Costa of the Vestingbar would be a model `campus fossil'. He's been here for so long!' The voting procedure has not yet been determined: `It could be something with applause or with different corners.' The prizes are also being kept secret.
