Bidding farewell: The most simple way to deal with this is to use the same word one employs for greeting: dag. The tried and true tot ziens is always a good bet. But for the daring speaker-of-Dutch-as-a-foreign-language, try the (some say, `too') familiar doehoeg or doeg (used primarily by women, at a higher pitch than usual) or its further abbreviated version doei. For good-byes of a longer duration, vaarwel or adieu may be employed. Finally, as denizens of Twente, impress the locals with a stab at their own lingo: ajuus or just aju.

And, so, until next time: Tot de volgende keer!
