Een dronken automobilist is in de nacht van 4 op 5 mei frontaal op Charlie, het gebouw van de UT-bewakingsdienst, ingereden. De voorkant van het pand en zes achter de gevel geparkeerde dienstfietsen raakten zwaar beschadigd (foto's), evenals de auto. De totale schade aan het gebouw bedraagt volgens het Facilitair Bedrijf zeker tussen de 20.000 en 30.000 euro.
De bestuurder had rond drie uur `s nachts een student afgezet en reed vervolgens nog een rondje over de rotonde. Daarbij raakte hij het spoor bijster en stuurde hij zijn overjarige Volkswagen Golf met vol gas recht het pand in. Uit onderzoek bleek dat de man 1,7 promille alcohol in zijn bloed had. Tegen hem is proces verbaal opgemaakt.
