Marlene Sanjose
Program: Erasmus student
Research group/faculty: Physics of Fluids / Science and Technology
Country of origin: France
Marlene Sanjose came to the Netherlands three months ago and is now going to take part in the Batavierenrace, because it is challenging and `typically Dutch'. In order to gain confidence about her impending performance, she is doing training by herself and also with SMIT. Because Sanjose has never been part of such a race before, she is very curious about how such an event will manifest itself. And, after all the sweating, she looks forward to the after-party.

She is looking forward to the race and hopes for nice weather to support her.
Mustafa Acar
Program: PhD candidate
Research group/faculty: IC-Design / Electrical Engineering
Country of origin: Turkey
Mustafa Acar is taking part in the Batavierenrace for the first time and is confident of his ability to finish his leg of the race. According to Acar, it will be a nice break from the stress of work and offers a good opportunity to do some sports. He runs as much as possible and is also following the training provided by SMIT. What he dreads most is having to wake up in the middle of the night to participate.
