Party bigger than ever

| Redactie

A 64-page scenario, a 65,000-euro budget, 40 musicians, 11 DJs, 54 security guards, 34 service agents, 110 bartenders, eight Red Cross staff members and six watchdogs: the ingredients of a Batavierenrace Party are mind-boggling. The party will take place in a variety of UT locales: Union Bastille, the Vestingbar (both inside and outside), the entire Vrijhof, the Sports Center, two large tents and on the Union Boulevard.

The band First Move will perform in the Pepsi Cola tent, followed by the man who has performed at a Batavierenrace Party more than anyone: Frank Bouwmeester and his Delta Works. The awards ceremony will also take place in this tent later in the evening. Real dance music can be found in the Bastille Atrium and outside on the Union Boulevard. Moving Grooves will perform on the Union Boulevard. Three DJs will provide the music from an authentic 1972 Piaggio Ape 50, also known as the famous SISSI car. The Leiden band Komen Lopen will play in the Sports Center. The Vrijhof Agora will house Aunt Dinie's Palace of Swing and The Groove Phenomenon will play in the Vrijhof Theatercafé. Rising star 2ThePoint will play in the Grolsch party tent. And, let us not forget the Vestingbar, which will open first and close last.
