This week's column concentrates on positive feedback. Below are some common ways to express congratulations or a simple `well done.'
Proficiat - Congratulations. Used for grand occasions, such as one's PhD defense. A bit
old-fashioned and formal.
Gefeliciteerd - Congratulations. Also used for occasions, especially on one's birthday.
(Mijn) complimenten - (My) compliments. Used to congratulate someone on an achievement, on what someone has done: i.e., a test, a paper.
Goed gedaan - Well done. Also used to congratulate someone on an accomplishment, but more informal.
