The Escher Ensemble consists of five saxophone players and five strings players. The ensemble was founded in 1993. Since its birth, the ensemble quickly became well-known, thanks to melodious line-ups, interesting programs and the musical skills of the musicians. Het Escher Ensemble presents exciting and modern programs, accessible concerts and a spontaneous stage presence. The ensembles leads the audience through modern and 20th century music, from Gershwin to Jacob ter Veldhuis, from Piazzolla to Merlijn Twaalfhoven. The ensemble performs without a conductor, rendering the concert even more exciting as the audience watches the music being formed through the cooperation of the ten members.
