Seven new PhD positions

The research organization NWO (Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research) has approved four research proposals for the Jacquard project. One of them will be done over the next four years, led by EEMCS Professor Roel Wieringa, of the Information Systems group. Wieringa's project creates seven positions for PhD students and has a budget of 1.3 million euros.

The Jacquard program is an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs and Science, NWO and STW. One of its goals is to involve businesses in software engineering research.

The universities of Twente and Amsterdam will participate in Roel Wieringa's research, directed towards value-based business IT alignment, in addition to the following companies: Ordina, Getronics, Cap Gemini, CIBIT/SERC, Hewlett-Packard, Twynstra Work Innovation, Unisys, Deloitte, Atos Origin, Cisco Systems, Labyrint and OrangeWing Consulting.
