tART Foundation lecture 2004: `The Importance of Being Digital' by Paul Lansky
American composer Lansky is renowned in the area of computer music and digital music synthesis. In his lecture, he plans to investigate the effect of the digital revolution on our opinions about sound and music, asserting that the technical, conceptual, artistic and aesthetic consequences of the rise of digital techniques in the last decade have unlocked new insights into what music is and can be. Composer David Rowland will open the lecture and lead the following discussion with Lansky in English.

Broodje Buiten presents: Andrew Read trio with Lils Macintosh
The Andrew Read trio is a jazz trio in the tradition of the Bill Evans Trio and the Oscar Peterson Trio, consisting of Andrew Read (string bass), Hans Kwakkernaat (piano) and Erik Poorterman (drums). The group's repertoire comprises easy listening jazz, Latin and light pop as well as Read's own compositions. The trio's latest album was recorded in the UT Vrijhof Amphitheater in April 2004 with guest singer Lils Mackintosh, who has performed internationally in productions and at jazz festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival.
