Asked where they currently rank UT in relation to other Dutch universities, employees rate UT's competitive position a 7.1, while students give it a 7.4. When the inquiry was made in relation to other universities in Europe, they grade their own university much lower. Employees rate the competitive position in Europe a 6.2, students a 6.3.
Newcom Research & Consultancy conducted the poll of 800 students and 260 employees for UT-Nieuws. The poll was prompted by the Science and Technology sector plan for the universities of Delft, Eindhoven and Twente who resolve to collectively reach the status of their European counterparts.
