Anniversary celebration

Next week the UT celebrates its 40th anniversary. On Monday 26 November the festivities start with a concert by Symphony Orchestra 'Orkest van het Oosten' conducted by Jaap van Zweden, performing music by Britten, Mozart, Delibes and Brahms. There are still some tickets available (f 12,50). On Thursday 29 November, between 12.00 and 13.30 hr, the executive board offers all members of staff coffee

Next week the UT celebrates its 40th anniversary. On Monday 26 November the festivities start with a concert by Symphony Orchestra 'Orkest van het Oosten' conducted by Jaap van Zweden, performing music by Britten, Mozart, Delibes and Brahms. There are still some tickets available (f 12,50). On Thursday 29 November, between 12.00 and 13.30 hr, the executive board offers all members of staff coffee and cake in the Vrijhof. From 21.00 hr there is a party in the Vrijhof, with djs Wipneus and Pim and student band Insert Coin, this party is free, but full is full. On Friday 30 November the academic highlight of the week takes place with a symposium on "The Information Age" with Castells, Cerf and Whitesides, the honorary doctors-to-be, (10.00 hr in the Vrijhof) and the ceremony in which the honorary doctorates will be awarded (15.00 hr, Jacobuskerk, Enschede). On Saturday 1 December the Dutch Student Darts Championships take place in the Sports Centre, with English Darts legend Bobby George (11.00 hr). In the evening The Party to top it all is held in the Bastille (from 22.00 hr).
