The results of the survey conducted last December by Newcom Research & Consultancy on the impression that employees, students and alumni had of the University of Twente is not likely to lead to any drastic change of course at the UT.

According to the results published this week on the UT website, the university is regarded as an attractive employer; the slogan `de ondernemende universiteit' (the entrepreneurial university) should definitely not be dropped; the level of ambition should be higher; performance-based rewards merit consideration; and, interdisciplinary work (between the technical and non-technical disciplines) is seen as important.

In addition, the UT should look abroad and upgrade its international reputation. Within Europe there are a lot of possibilities and in Asia and North America as well. People think there should be more cooperation UT-wide. The campus should be brought up more as unique in the Dutch academic world. In the educational programs there should be room for career skills; and, the bachelor's programs should be broader, the master's more specialized.
