Holiday plans: `I'll be staying in the area for this holiday break. I have good Vietnamese friends living in Groningen and Delft. It would be nice to visit them.'
Accomplishments of 2007: `Life is good. My research is going well and I hope to bring back the knowledge I have learned at the UT and share it with my students. I am a teacher of Engineering at Thai Guyen University in Vietnam and my wife is teaching there as well.' Reflecting on the past, Nguyen adds, `I have been living in the Netherlands for almost four years now. My first impression of the Dutch was that they were generally cold people. That was the first year, but after one year, I felt differently. The Dutch are quite understanding and friendly.'
Goals for 2008: `Next April I will finish my degree program and defend my thesis. This is very exciting. I have two children in Vietnam, one son (14) and one daughter (20), and I can't wait to spend time with both my children and my wife.'
