Holiday plans: `I plan to go back home to Portugal for my Christmas break. Hopefully, I will be able to spend some good time with my family, friends and especially my girlfriend. I plan to come back fully charged to get on with my PhD work.'
Greatest accomplishments in 2007: `In my work I got some good results this year. My group was initially based close to Utrecht and it was only in the latter part of 2006 that we moved to Enschede. The group greatly increased in the last year, which expanded my social circle. I spent some time to get to know the city better as well.'
Goals for 2008: `I hope to get a few good publications next year. I will be starting my final year in 2008, and as you can imagine this year is going to be a very important for me. However, I also plan to travel around in my spare time to get to know the Netherlands and it's culture. Photography is also one of my passions. I will try to dedicate some more time to it.'
