Getting sick of the mainland? Why not just escape for the weekend and cross the North Sea to Newcastle! It is really as easy as it sounds, and a three-day-cruise has a price list starting at only 72 euros per person.

The King of Scandinavia and the Princess of Norway cruise ships travel between IJmuiden to Newcastle. Passengers will not get bored during their journey; they can have a drink in one of the bars, watch a movie or stroll around the ship's deck. While onboard, travelers can have dinner or breakfast in an excellent restaurant, dance in the club, enjoy live entertainment or spend their last pounds in the tax-free shopping area or casino— the ferry has it all. When tired or in need of privacy, one can relax in a cabin onboard; they all come with a bathroom.

In the early morning, the royal boat arrives at the dock in north-east England; but what does the city of Newcastle have to offer? There is the `New Castle' ruin, which indeed gave name to the city. Well-known art galleries like the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art are worth a visit, and how does the Biscuit Factory sound?

Architecture devotees should definitely visit the Millennium Bridge, one of the many bridges over the Tyne River. Of course, shopping is always an option; one can visit the city centre of Eldon Square or Europe's largest shopping and leisure centre, the `MetroCentre,' and for the big spender there is Walhalla's.

Closing a long day of shopping, and satisfied with your purchases, then take a step back and relax; a British pub is not hard to find and the Englishmen are always happy to pour you a drink. Be back to the ferry on time, it will leave latecomers on the docks. When back onboard, do not forget to enjoy it, before long your feet will touch the ground again.
