Impressions of a lost republic

| Redactie

The Museum TwentseWelle in Enschede opened a new exhibition about the daily life in the former DDR (German Democratic Republic) in light of the twenty year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, marking the end to 40 years of communism in East Germany. Original loaned objects procured from German museums show the interiors and architecture of Marxist houses, Trabant cars, clothing and television programs, which give an overall sketch of life in the former socialist `paradise'.

The exhibition can be seen through February 28, 2010. More information www.twentsewelle.nl/
