SciSports has entered the research-paper competition at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, taking place in February 2018 in Boston, with a paper titled ‘Actions Speak Louder than Goals’. In this paper the company introduces an innovative football metric which evaluates any type of player action on the football pitch.
Asylum seekers from asylum center in Azelo visited the University of Twente yesterday. They participated in a small football tournament and a campus tour, both organized by the UT´s Connecting Hands Committee.
There is a lot of money and interest in football. It is therefore highly important for football teams to pick the most suitable players. Now they have to do that based on a pure observation, but researchers from the UT and SciSports are working on developing a fully automated software for tracking football players and the ball. So far their efforts are paying off.
