The first edition of ‘Today&Beyond - IT & Tech summit Twente’ will take place on the 1st of November in the Grolsch Veste Enschede. The University of Twente will be represented at the event by a number of speakers.

The summit will consist of breakout sessions led by IT & Tech experts from Twente, including researchers, students and spin-offs of the UT. For instance, visiting professor Jan Hendrik Croockewit (CTO Nedap Healthcare) and UT researcher Jair Santanna will both speak on the main stage. Student teams Solar Team Twente and Roboteam Twente will also give presentations at the event.

Today&Beyond’ was initiated and organized by a local entrepreneur Jolijn Hamers. She explains what gave her the idea: ‘A few months ago, a research project “Keep Talent in Twente” showed that most students don’t know of companies and career options in the area. That is why I thought it would be a good idea to create a moment when students and tech specialists in Twente can meet. It’s a great opportunity to inform students about the region. Companies were enthusiastic about the initiative and we definitely plan to turn it into an annual event.’

Hamers believes the next week’s summit will welcome about 250 participants, all of whom can expect free pizza and can attend any sessions of their choosing. Most of the talks at Today&Beyond will be given in English and it is still possible to sign up.
