Independent journalism at the University of Twente
Ed Brinksma, the rector mangnificus, was guest on the Dutch radio program ‘Het Ochtendhumeur’ (Morning Humor) with presenters Martin Steenbeeke and Jan Medendorp last weekend. Listeners could hear the rector’s eclectic taste in music which was played during the broadcast and listen to his opinions on a range of subjects.
A German student, studying psychology, joined in the program to express her opinions on keeping the primary language of lectures and the environment in Dutch. According to the newly released Alumni magazine over 50 percent of first year students registered for psychology are from Germany.
