Bites to taste
This weekend, a three-day-long gastronomical tasting called Proefeet will take place in Enschede. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, event organizers promise a larger venue this year with special music, cooking demonstrations, fashion shows and over 30 participants will compete to win the honor of being named ‘best restaurant’. International students can taste small servings of local culinary dishes by purchasing plastic tokens called ‘duyten’ at five cash desks located in the area, and one euro equals one ‘duyt’. Most of the food dishes served cost € 3, or if you just want to take in the sights and smells, entrance is free. Proefeet opens at 6pm on Friday night, and visitors can go earlier on Saturday and Sunday at 12am.
