`Nieuw op 1' ('New at number one'), a party concert by `An + Jan' (Jan Rot, Marjolein Meijers, Jan van der Meij, Jakob Klaasse)
`Nieuw op 1!': With their third `An + Jan' tour Jan Rot and Marjolein Meijers literally have hit gold. Only the best is good enough. A party package of number one hits from the top 40, in sparkling Dutch. `Ik heb jou, lief' (I got you, babe), `Gouwe ouwe' (Wooly Bully), and `Als het zomer wordt' (In the summertime). `Nieuw op 1' swings from highlight to highlight. Starlet Marjolein makes you forget all the Berini-pain with a heart-tearing `Dankzij mijn man' (Stand by your man); hear Jan `Rod' McKuen with `Leve de liefde en de lol' (Without a worry in the world), new starguitarist Jan van der Meij poses as `the Joker' from Steve Miller, and Beach Boy Jakob Klaasse sings the last walk of `Willem Ruys' (Sloop John B.) from behind his piano.
There will also be a competition of 'Beatles vs. Stones', a bit of 'Elvis in wooden shoes' and the complete `Paradise by the dashboard light' of Meatloaf.
