In 2003 284 teams took part in the race. This year the organising committee again hopes that many enthusiastic teams will participate. In addition to Dutch teams many teams from other countries run the Batavierenrace, the well-known 'Flying Swiss', for one. Each year the race starts in Nijmegen and the route runs through Germany and the Achterhoek region in 25 stages to Enschede, where the finish is on the campus of the University of Twente. The race is a total of 175 kilometres long, the distances of the stages vary from 3.4 to 12.1 kilometres. For more information and registration check out www.batavierenrace.nl/en.
