The board of the Faculty Club has asked the executive board to change the name of the 'boerderij' (Dutch for farmhouse) to Faculty Club. 'That name is representative', according to the board. 'Also for foreign guests. Better than the agrarian sounding boerderij.' The executive board agreed to the request early last week.

Jeroen Cornelissen nieuwe decaan TNW

Hoogleraar Jeroen Cornelissen wordt vanaf 1 september decaan van de faculteit TNW. Het is een opvallende benoeming; afgelopen februari werd nog besloten hem te ontslaan en zijn vakgroep op te heffen.

Veni-beurzen voor zes UT-onderzoekers

Zes jonge onderzoekers van de Universiteit Twente kregen vandaag een Veni-beurs van NWO, tot maximaal € 320.000. Met de beurzen kunnen ze de komende drie jaar hun eigen onderzoekslijnen verder uitwerken.

Veni-beurs voor Anouk Bomers

Anouk Bomers, onderzoeker bij de vakgroep ET-vakgroep Multidisciplinary Water Management, ontvangt een Veni-subsidie van onderzoeksfinancier NWO. Zij krijgt maximaal 320.000 euro voor haar onderzoek naar een methode om real-time overstromingskansen te voorspellen.
