Dutch chansons, ducks and an exciting dance performance open the new cultural season in the Vrijhof on 8 September. It opens with the singer/songwriter Theo Nijland in Broodje Cultuur (Culture Sandwich), with absurd texts and contrary songs in Dutch. At 16.00 hr, photography student society's show is opened. Each year Foton organises a themed exhibition of its membersÆ work, this year the theme is a yellow plastic bath duck. The winner of the Broodje Cultuur Popular prize 2003, Luna and Alta Mar, returns for an evening performance with a flamenco programme in which there is room for intimacy, strength, and explosivity.
