The PCNS-domain of the service department Information Technology, Library & Education (ITBE) was hacked last week The department suspects that the perpetrator came from outside the UT.
Because of the attack the UT-password list for employeess fell into the wrong hands and made it necessary for each employee to change his or her password. According to ITBE spokesperson Roger Quaedvlieg users should not be worried about possible abuses of their files, as hackers usually crack domains in search of disk space. They then dump software there to be down-loaded by third parties, according to the ITBE.
