In the coming years the University of Twente will show its own art collection in a series of four exhibitions and publications. A special guest curator makes his or her choice from one of the subcollections. For the collection Paul Citroen guest curator Bert de Wilde was approached.

This collection contains works by Paul Citroen himself, by Appel, Alechinsky, Corneille, Hundertwasser, and work by Hans van Efferen. Research shows that Hans van Efferen and Paul Citroen often worked together and drew each other. Thus a series of double portraits developed, of which the UT owns one. Maria van Efferen, Hans' widow, allowed Bert de Wilde to make a choice from her husbandÆs work. The UT, therefore, will show work from the collection Paul Citroen with special attention paid to Hans van Efferen.

The shows opens on the UT-OpenDagPlus, this Saturday 24 May, in the Vrijhof and runs until 22 June.
