A UT-steering committee is investigating the possibility to use hotel and conference centre Logica in its entirety to house international students. The future of the low-budget accommodation has therefore become uncertain. Half of the 24 rooms for rent have already been in use to house foreign students for some time. The executive board has instigated an investigation into the hotelÆs suitability to serve as student housing for a longer period of time.
The steering committee lead by staff member for policy Pim Fij is looking at more possibilities on campus. The Facility Department (FB) has advised the steering committee not to change anything to the formula of Logica. The FB states that the hotel represents a significant added value to the UT and has proven itself in this role over the years. The two managers of Logica have handed in their resignation by 1 March because of the uncertainty.
