Council agrees to reorganisation

The University Council (UR) agreed to the supplementary reorganisation plan last week. This means that UT-wide over 147 jobs will disappear, though largely without having to resort to forced redundancies. The UR finally agreed to the plan last Tuesday after an extra promise from the executive board that 'employees whose jobs are threatened will be offered a real possibility to escape forced redund

The University Council (UR) agreed to the supplementary reorganisation plan last week. This means that UT-wide over 147 jobs will disappear, though largely without having to resort to forced redundancies. The UR finally agreed to the plan last Tuesday after an extra promise from the executive board that 'employees whose jobs are threatened will be offered a real possibility to escape forced redundancy, for example by offering them another, fitting, job inside or outside the university or helping them start their own company, at least once during the 20 months of protection from redundancy.'
