Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization, aims to help its members improve their communication and leadership skills. Founded in 1924 in California, Toastmasters now has over 235,000 members in 11,700 clubs in 92 countries. These friendly groups have no teachers, instead members take turns giving speeches and providing feedback. The successful educational program allows members to choose their own speech topics and pace of learning.

Everyone in the UT community is welcome to join, including staff, students, English-native and non-native speakers. Come to the first meeting next Thursday, October 2 at 6pm in meeting room 4 in the Bastille.  For more information: www.district59-toastmasters.org/ (Europe) or www.toastmasters.nl (Netherlands).
