Jazz Day, up and close
The thirteenth annual Jazz Day will feature two powerful concerts in one day. Jazz Podium Drienerlo (JPD) will be presenting two jazz greats, I Compani and the Narcissus Quartet, performing in the Vrijhof Amphitheater on October 13.

`The most democratic concert in the world!'
Did you ever attend a concert, and you just sat there and thought: `Will there be some action or what?' For this day concert, bring along your cellular phone and do not bother to turn it off when the concert starts. Members of the audience can interact with musicians by sending short messages to the dee-jay Martijn Westera, who will beam these random comments on a large screen. Musicians, led by long-time band leader and accomplished saxophonist Bo van de Graaf, are sure to react in this completely new concert experience, where for once, your vote will be counted.

Narcissus featuring Jozef Dumoulin & Guillermo Celano
The evening concert will move into full swing with Dutch and Belgian musicians from the band Narcissus. They will create music that sparkles with the sounds of some of the biggest talents of the new jazz generation. The band has preformed at venues like the North Sea Jazz Festival and for this concert, they will be playing only original material, but be ready for their extraordinary improvisations.
