Schlager music, beer and more during UToberfest

The Munich Oktoberfest boasts an average of 6 - 7 million visitors annually. This time study association Isaac Newton attempts to bring to life the German’s largest folk festival. The event will take place on the 3rd of October on campus.

UToberfest will feature Schlager music by DJ Immer Hansi – an Oktoberfest, Après-ski and party DJ. A dance performance by S.D.V Chasse is also one of the main highlights of the festival.

With forty-five kegs of beer ordered – yes that’s right, forty-five kegs! – the event will also feature the traditional bratwurst to tantalize your taste buds. But that’s not all: a photobooth will be present in the large tent to capture real-time polaroid photos. Visitors are welcome to dress in the traditional Bavarian gear of lederhosen, so they can try to really bring out the ‘Oktoberfest vibe’.

‘It has been a challenge for us to organize this event, since we did not have any money invested by the study associations. But we have received lots of help from with promotion,’ says Thijs Masmeijer, chairman of the UToberfest Committee. It works, with 500 tickets sold out, it looks like the event is heading to a kick start.
