Advancement of women, why so slow?
Woman are noticeably absent at the most prominent levels of science, medicine, business, law and academia. Why? In her book, Professor Virginia Valian’s explanation of women’s slow advancement in the professions details how and why women are at a disadvantaged when compared to the quick advancement of men.
She will visit the University of Twente to give a workshop to university leaders, network members and a broad talk about her book Why So Slow? on 25 March. Valian holds a position as a professor of psychology and linguistics at the Hunters College, US. An interview.
