-The balance on your UT chip card (student or employee) will automatically be converted to Euros. From January onwards please pay as much as possible with your chipcard. This will prevent long rows forming at the tills. Make sure you have recharged your chipcard before 31 December. From 1 January it will only be possible to recharge the card with Euronotes. The minimum amount therefore is five euro.
-Only the financial department cash point in the BB-Building will accept guilders after 1 January. All the other cash points and the sales points (like the CIVshop) only accept euros. UT-Catering is the exception to this rule: you can still pay in guilders in the refectory and canteens. But please note that after 1 January cash transactions (guilders and euros) will carry a small surcharge.
-Guilders have to be spent or exchanged at the bank. This is also true for 'piggy-banks' kept by some departments for coffee, birthdays, etc. There will be no central changing office at the UT. The ABN-Amro bank on the Calslaan will only exchange their own clients' guilders.
-Expenses have to be claimed as soon as possible. The decentralised financial departments can hand in expenses forms at the central financial department until 12 December. Expenses claimed after 12 December will be paid in 2002. Always state the currency on the expenses form!
