Waking up to a campus covered in white is not an everyday sight to behold. Well protected by winter clothing and armed with sleds and snowboard, campus residents created a proper show in the snow. Photographer Frans Nikkels shot this picture series.

De campus krijgt weer een centrale bewonersraad. Vanavond vormen de initiatiefnemers een nieuw bestuur. Het inspraakorgaan behartigt de belangen van campusbewoners, bijvoorbeeld bij huurverhoging of de discussie over het coöptatierecht.

In de Drienerlose bossen gaan des avonds laat de kettingen dicht Niemand mag er meer naar buiten, binnenblijven is verplicht. Dat zongen de eerstejaars van 1966 in hun introductielied. De Technische Hogeschool Twente startte dat derde studiejaar met een paar honderd jongens en een handvol meisjes.

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Twente began its third year with a few hundred men and a handful of women.

Campus startplek en spil monumentendag

De campus is het decor voor de opening van de Open Monumentendag op 12 september. De aftrap van de lokale editie is in het openluchttheater en wordt gevolgd door rondleidingen langs (monumentale) architectuur en kunstwerken.

Op zoek naar het ultieme campuskiekje

Fotograferen is de gedeelde hobby van Max Jeltes en Bob Loos, twee UT-studenten woonachtig aan de Matenweg 30B. Dagelijks maken ze een foto van de ‘unieke natuur’ op de Twentse campus. Het resultaat plaatsen de studenten op hun Instagramaccount utwente.nature, dat inmiddels meer dan duizend volgers telt.

Op de UT klim je straks op een hoofd van acht meter

‘The Head’, zo luidt de naam van het acht meter hoge kunstwerk dat in het najaar van 2021 bij de bij de hoofdingang van de campus komt te staan. Ter ere van het zestigjarig bestaan van de UT, koos de Campus Art Advisory Committee uit drie kandidaten voor kunstenaar Joep van Lieshout.
