Heb jij al een Honest CV?

Een curriculum vitae dat in kaart brengt wat je wereldbeeld, idealen, gevoelens en angsten zijn, oftewel een Honest CV. Dat is waarover de studenten Kaz Middelhoek en Suhaib Aslam maandagavond in het DesignLab een workshop geven aan UT-studenten. ‘Het heet dan wel een CV, maar het is eigenlijk compleet het tegenovergestelde.’

Een nieuwe vorm van lezingen, de lightbulb chats. Geen spreker voor een publiek, maar het publiek als sprekers. Morgen vindt de pilot om half zes plaats in het Designlab, waar de ethiek rondom kunstmatige intelligentie aan de kaak gesteld wordt.

Frank Kresin verlaat UT voor Hogeschool van Amsterdam

Frank Kresin, managing director DesignLab, verlaat per 1 februari de UT. Hij wordt decaan bij de Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Kresin krijgt in de hoofdstad de leiding over de faculteit Digitale Media en Creatieve Industrie.

Visualising data into one single picture

Stanford scholar Robert E. Horn visited the UT last Friday. The 85 year old Horn invented the so-called ‘mess maps’ and is co-inventor of Information Murals. Horn provided a lecture and workshop to teach the importance of visualising your ideas.

Biking 4500 kilometres in 30 days for sustainability

‘Sometimes you need to do crazy things to achieve big things’

Sanderinkbeurs voor UT-student Juul Nuijen

Tweedejaars student technische geneeskunde Juul Nuijen ontving vrijdagmiddag de Sanderink-beurs in het DesignLab. Het bijbehorende bedrag van tien mille krijgt ze verspreid over 12 maanden. ‘Hiermee kan ik me volledig op de studie richten.’

ECIU Creathon

‘Trying to help society’

The first ECIU Creathon will kick-off this Friday at the UT. It is organised by Novel-T and DesignLab for ECIU (European Consortium of Innovative Universities) members and will welcome over 80 participants. Coming from all over Europe, the teams will work on creative solutions to pressing issues faced by ECIU member regions.

The University of Twente has signed an agreement with the province of Overijssel. The aim of the newly founded collaboration is to use DesignLab’s design methodology and UT’s wide-ranging expertise as guidance for new governmental policies.

A critical look at technologies shaping our lives

Around 300 scholars from different disciplines have gathered at the DesignLab to discuss human-technology relations. The three-day conference that started last Wednesday has been hosting people from all over the world to discuss ethical, political, and existential implications of technologies.
