Amuse-bouche for 180 people

Food is a product that needs to please all of our five senses. As such, designing food can be very challenging. Participants of the ´Design the Future´ track at CuriousU had a chance to experience this challenge first hand. They had to design and prepare amuse-bouches for all other students at the summer school.

Today is the very first day of the very first edition of CuriousU, summer school in festival style organized at the University of Twente. Participants from all over the world gathered to listen to the first inspirational speaker of the week, had their first lectures and they could also learn about the Netherlands in the ‘Dutch for Dummies’ course.

Eerste summerschool UT van start

Het was een bijzonder internationaal gezelschap dat vanmorgen in de ‘big tent’ bijeenkwam voor de aftrap van de allereerste summerschool CuriousU op de UT. Maar liefst 28 nationaliteiten – van in totaal 180 deelnemers – zijn een week lang te gast op dit sciencefestival.

Eerste prijs voor wiskundestudenten

De wiskundestudenten Victor Reijnders, Martijn Schoot Uiterkamp en Mike Visser werden eind juli tot winnaar uitgeroepen van de MOPTA-ontwerpwedstrijd. Deze internationale wedstrijd is gericht op de inzet van wiskundige problemen voor optimalisatieproblemen.

Campagne beveiliging: ‘Where is your phone now?’

De UT-beveiliging gaat na de zomer stickers plakken, om studenten, medewerkers en gasten te waarschuwen hun spullen niet onbeheerd achter te laten. Deze stickers komen in de faculteitsgebouwen, op ‘plekken waar je ze niet verwacht’.
