Rubicon grant for Claas Willem Visser

A Rubicon grant of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) will enable UT scientist dr. Claas Willem Visser to do research at Harvard University for a period of two years. The postdoc from Detlef Lohse’s Physics of Fluids group (MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology) will investigate 3D printing techniques for other materials than the common plastics. An exciting step will be 3D printing of living cells.

UT-postdoc met Rubiconbeurs naar VS

UT-postdoc Claas Willem Visser (Physics of Fluids) mag twee jaar lang onderzoek gaan doen aan de Harvard University in de Verenigde Staten. Visser is een van de zestien jonge wetenschappers in ons land aan wie gisteren een Rubiconbeurs is toegekend.

‘Tentamen zegt niets over iemands carrière’

Wat Eric Mazur betreft mag het tentamen op de helling. ‘Een tentamen heeft nog nooit uitgewezen wie in zijn latere carrière succesvol zal zijn.’ En daarom is deze manier van kennis testen een heroverweging waard, zo liet de onderwijsexpert en hoogleraar fysica aan de Harvard University vanmiddag weten.
