EU Commissie wil wetenschapsbudget flink verhogen

Als het aan de Europese Commissie ligt, gaat het EU-budget voor onderzoek en innovatie flink omhoog. De commissie wil ook meer investeren in jongeren en heeft het beoogde budget voor uitwisselingsprogramma Erasmus+ verdubbeld.

‘When I first saw the finished map it surprised me how connected the world looked. On the other hand, it also shows there is still a lot of inequality in the world. And that there is no easy solution for that,’ says ITC Professor Andy Nelson when asked about the ‘Global map of inequalities in accessibility’, which he helped to create and which was recently published in Nature.

‘Bijzonder om te bezoeken’

Vrijhof Cultuur organiseert een busreis naar Almere om daar het theaterspektakel MARE te bekijken. Theatergezelschap Vis à Vis speelt daar op zondag 27 mei een voorstelling die onder andere in een kuub water plaatsvindt. ‘Een optreden om niet snel te vergeten’, aldus cultuurcoördinator Tineke Grootenboer.

Rector wil zuinig zijn op talenten

Ruimte voor verlof in tenuretrack

Onderzoekers krijgen de mogelijkheid om hun tenuretrack maximaal een jaar te onderbreken voor zorgtaken of zwangerschaps- en ouderschapsverlof. Het CvB stelt deze aanpassing voor in het beleid voor talentvolle wetenschappers. De Uraad spreekt zich in mei uit over het voorstel.

De UT waarschuwt voor een e-mail waarin gevraagd wordt om het wachtwoord aan te passen. Peter Peters, security manager bij ICT-dienst LISA, bevestigt de phishingaanval van afgelopen weekend. ‘De aanval is groter dan wat we de afgelopen weken hebben gezien.’

The UT warns of an e-mail asking for the password to be changed. Peter Peters, security manager at ICT service LISA, confirms the phishing attack that occurred last weekend. ‘The attack is bigger than what we have seen in recent weeks.’
