Illegal trade in software
The campus as breeding ground for computer crime. This is the reputation the UT has to contend with since the end of December, when it leaked that the police had 'raided' the campus. Computers were confiscated and a former campus resident was taken into custody. A second suspect, a former flatmate of the arrestee, is staying in India. The judiciary and the police are not commenting as long as the investigation is continuing, but the people from Twente are apparently part of a network based in Utrecht trading in illegal software under the 'brand' name Crazybytes, with a monthly turnover of a few hundred thousand.
