Professor Lisette van Gemert-Pijnen will formally give her goodbyes to the UT this Friday with a farewell symposium after 37 years, but she is not leaving by any means. This farewell interview is therefore not only a glimpse of the past, but also a preview of what's to come. ‘We should put more effort into seeking out and emphasise our regional significance.’
The career of UT alumnus Tim van de Rijdt (40) is anything but run-of-the-mill. After working for Newcom and Google, he is now Chief Marketing Officer at cultured meat company Mosa Meat. ‘We’re not counting on any mass consumer behaviour change; that’s why we cultivate meat.’
Former physicist now Minister Robbert Dijkgraaf prefers to start every problem with a clean slate. For instance, why are there so many barriers between teaching and research, he asks rhetorically. Can’t they be removed?

Ruim honderd dagen is Vinod Subramaniam nu collegevoorzitter in Twente.

He talks about corona fatigue and 2G, ‘the smell’ of the campus and the new coalition agreement. ‘For the financing of education and research, look at our neighbour to the east, that is what I would advise the new cabinet to do.’
