`Work-life balance is far better developed here'
Professor Vinod Subramaniam's curriculum vitae reads like that of an international jetsetter, spanning three continents. Subramaniam left his native India after secondary school to accept a scholarship at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. From 1989-1996, he earned two Master's degrees and a PhD at the University of Michigan. Upon completion, he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Goettingen, Germany. He spent 2002-2004 at AstraZeneca in Loughborough, UK. On March 15, Subramaniam assumed the chair of the Biophysical Engineering group in the faculty of Science and Technology at the UT.
