View on presidential election
Early next month, U.S. voters will head to the polls to cast their ballots in a presidential race sure to be considered among the most pivotal campaigns in modern history. Not only is Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin selected as the Republican vice presidential nominee, but for the first time, African-American Barack Obama is running on the Democratic ticket for president. History will be made. `No longer will it be revolutionary for a woman or an African-American to run for a high political position,' said Niklas Nordlof, 23, who will be studying Communications at the UT for the next three months.
