Would you lease your clothes instead of buying them? Dutch company MUD Jeans offers precisely this service: it leases jeans to its customers for one year. UT students have just finished a research focused on MUD Jeans and on how the company could increase the number of its lease contracts.
ARISE, a new knowledge network at the University of Twente which focuses on sustainable innovations for energy-efficient smart cities, was founded exactly one year ago. To celebrate its first birthday, ARISE organized a symposium today on the topics of Sustainable Energy and Circular Economy.
SBE - Institute of Engineering is organizing its very first symposium today. The event has welcomed researchers from the institute itself, as well as experts from the industry. The symposium is also combined with the official opening of the High Pressure Lab (Hogedruklab).

Tien jaar later is ze nog steeds zielsgelukkig met haar echtgenoot. ‘In Mexico zou ik mij niet meer thuis voelen.’
'We want to show that sustainability is about much more than just hugging trees or using solar panels. It´s about helping each other,' say UT students Bas Coenen and Lisanne de Weert. To do that, they decided to organize a 'Sustainable Inspiration' event, which will also include a - sustainable - free lunch made out of waste food, donated by a local supermarket.
For the third time in a row, Wageningen University was chosen as the most sustainable institute of higher learning in the Netherlands. Of the 21 participating institutions, UT ended up next to last. Kitty Nijmeijer's Blue Energy project was, however, nominated as the ‘most iconic project’.
