NewsMeer universitaire studenten op kamers, behalve in Enschede
Vorig jaar gingen voor het eerst sinds 2016 méér universitaire studenten op kamers wonen. In 2020 waren het er bijna 26 duizend, terwijl dat aantal in de drie jaren daarvoor rond de 22 duizend studenten lag. Enschede is de enige stad waar het aantal studenten op kamers iets afnam.

NewsMore university students leaving the nest, except for Enschede
Last year, the number of university students who moved out of their parents’ homes increased for the first time since 2016. In 2020, almost 26,000 students left the nest, while in the three previous years the number was around 22,000. Enschede is the only city where the number of students living in rooms decreased slightly.

Een recordaantal studenten van buiten Europa wil dit studiejaar naar Nederland komen, meldt de IND. Onder invloed van de coronacrisis was hun aantal vorig jaar fors gedaald.

A record number of students from outside Europe want to come to the Netherlands to study this year, the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) reports. The coronavirus crisis led to a sharp drop in the numbers of such students last year.

Het papieren archief van UT-Nieuws (het huidige U-Today) – uit de periode 1963-1995 - is vanaf 6 september volledig digitaal toegankelijk voor alle geïnteresseerden. Duizenden pagina’s universiteitsnieuws werden daarvoor gescand en vervolgens overgedragen naar het Historisch Centrum Overijssel.

NewsDigital dig through UT history
The paper archive of UT-Nieuws (the current U-Today) - from the period 1963-1995 – is now fully digitally accessible to all interested parties. Thousands of pages of university news were scanned and transferred to the Historisch Centrum Overijssel (Historical Centre Overijssel).
