Number of Foreign AIOs: Dramatic Rise
Statistics reveal a significant change in the demographics of AIOs at the UT over the past five years (see accompanying chart). Overall, the number of AIOS has increased by 65% since 1999. The number of Dutch AIOs, however, has risen by only 28%; while the number of foreign AIOs at the UT has increased dramatically by 127%. In TNW (Science and Technology) alone, more than 67% of the 241 AIOs come from another country, primarily from South Africa, India, China, Italy, Spain. Currently, more than half of the AIOs at the UT come from outside the Netherlands.
