Power to the students!

To improve the quality of their assistance to foreign students, the Dutch National Students' Union is currently carrying out a survey among international students in the Netherlands. In doing so, the organization aims to learn more “about the experiences of international students" and to identify potential "differences in information provision among Dutch universities" to internationals. The survey can be found here. To learn more about the union first ­– in Dutch called the Landelijke Studenten Vakbond – surf to the English part of their website.

Join IAESTE

The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE ) has now also touched soil in Enschede. IAESTE the Netherlands aims to connect technical students to tech companies, and in doing so enables students from all over the world to do an internship in the Netherlands. In September 2012, Utrecht University awarded them with the Student Prize for Extraordinary Achievements. Trainees are paid for their efforts and thanks to the organization’s international character, internships in countries other than Holland are also an option.

Nieuwe termijn Kees van Ast

De raad van toezicht van de UT heeft Kees van Ast voor nog twee jaar benoemd als lid van het college van bestuur. In oktober gaat zijn derde termijn in als collegelid. Van Ast blijft aan tot 1 oktober 2015. Een half jaar later wordt hij 65. Van Ast kwam in 2005 in dienst van de UT. Sindsdien beheert hij de financiën.
