Olga Koshkina, projectleider in de groep Duurzame Polymeerchemie, ontwikkelde samen met haar collega's Frederik Wurm en Timo Rheinberger een gloednieuw polymeer dat stabiel en biologisch veilig is en ook in het lichaam kan worden getraceerd. Dit maakt tal van toepassingen mogelijk, bijvoorbeeld voor verbeterde medicijnafgifte, maar ook als contrastmiddel in MRI-beeldvorming.

ScienceDesigner molecules: the promising future of a newly constructed polymer
Olga Koshkina, project leader in the Sustainable Polymer Chemistry group, together with her colleagues, Frederik Wurm and Timo Rheinberger, developed a brand-new polymer that is stable, biologically safe, and can be monitored in the body. This allows, among others, applications in drug delivery, but also as a sustainable contrast agent in MRI imaging.
