He is currently a Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS), an interdisciplinary institute that tries to get scientists together from all over the world across all disciplines, to work and think together.

Het commentaar van U-Today. De UT profileert zich graag met ambitieuze plannen en schroomt niet om zich in het buitenland te positioneren als 'meest internationale universiteit van Nederland'. Maar laten we vooral niet vergeten dat bescheidenheid en nuchterheid op de eerste plaats een deugd zijn, en geen zonde.

Het commentaar van U-Today. Eén op de drie niet-Europese nieuwe bachelors kampt met psychische, medische of sociale problemen. De UT zou pas op de plaats moeten maken met actieve werving van deze groep jongvolwassenen. Zorg eerst dat de huidige populatie toekomt aan waarvoor ze kwamen: studeren.

A woman walks into a mortuary. The mortician lifts up the sheet and the woman says: ‘Yes, that is my husband, but what detergent are you using to keep your sheets so white?’ The joke comes from ‘Das schwarze Buch’ by the German comic artist Uli Stein. It was used in a Viennese experiment with 156 subjects. These people were asked whether they liked the jokes.

Het commentaar van U-Today. De hedendaagse student is niet te benijden. Nominaal studeren is de norm en aan het eind heb je tienduizenden euro's schuld. Dit moet niet de universiteit zijn die we willen, een krachtig tegengeluid is nodig.
